Enhancing Employee Wellbeing: A Study at Old Mutual Personal Finance

Introduction

You are being invited to take part in a research study about the effectiveness of the Strove mobile application. Before you decide to take part, it is important for you to understand why the research is being done and what it will involve. Please take one minute to read the following information carefully.

Purpose of the Study

This study aims to evaluate how the Strove app affects your wellbeing, using the WHO-5 Wellbeing Index, and to analyse how app engagement relates to changes in wellbeing scores. Your participation will involve answering two brief surveys and allowing access to your app usage data.

What Will Happen During the Study?

If you agree to take part::

- You will complete a wellbeing survey at the beginning (now) and end of a 6-month period.
- The survey comprises only 5 multiple-choice questions and should take less than 2 minutes to complete.
- You may also be given access to the Strove app. If so, your engagement with the platform (app opens, activities synced, etc.) will be recorded automatically.

Voluntary Participation

Your participation in this study is entirely voluntary. It is your choice whether or not to take part. You can withdraw from the study at any time with no consequences.

Confidentiality

Your privacy will be protected. No individual data will be shared with your employer. All data will be anonymised and only aggregate data will be used for the study analysis. The results of the study may be published, but your identity will remain confidential.

Benefits and Risks

Benefits: Your participation will contribute to improving wellbeing initiatives within the company. You may also personally benefit by way of improved health and wellbeing from using the app.

Risks: There are no known significant risks associated with your participation in this research beyond those of everyday life.
